it does not have the ridiculously heavy bottle
I don't actually find the '08 bottle to be heavier than say a decent claret bottle (decent , as in the wine quality), perhaps previous viintages were more fashionably incapsulated
The bottle does have a very deep punt, and is wider at the shoulder than it is at the base, so that could distract you. Ventisquero named the Three Lagoons after their efforts to save the Wetlands. The MD of that very large Chilean company who financed this project got a load of wine making support from Montes and the company made a significant contribution from the wine sales to the environment there - He says, more detail may be read on Tom Canavan's site about this.
Yali '08 Carmenere. I've got an update:
As you know I asked Tesco wine advisors, on 0845-0269-998 to try and find the Yali '08 Carmenere in their warehouse, they understood that I wanted the '08 vintage. They have looked, but couldn't find it. They said they were very sorry, but don’t worry, we'll give you a refund, and we'd like you to keep the box of 3 Lagoons Chardonnay with our compliments, that was at 17:30 this afternoon, and just now, the refund email has come in to confirm this.
If Tesco want to show the way in the UK online wine business, they are certainly going the right way about it. I think their service to me, and on other exchange / no quibble swap occasions has been excellent.
This is a bit of value added, see below:
If the Wine Advisors do get a call from the warehouse tomorrow, Ja***ie will call here, and we can start another order for 6. I only want the 2008, and she properly understood my interest for that particular wine on that vintage.
TBF - You can't fault that sort of effort from their Dundee wine office to correct this problem
