Heads up for Goose, Bacchus & Dunc...
VM Taylor's Pass 2012 in store here for £11.99 (£4 off I think)
Therefore £9 when buying 6
I've not bought any myself yet but am sorely tempted
So far I've just picked up double discounted Nic Feuill Brut for £11.25
You are a star, Shez
Went to the big Reading store today. The Taylors P. was actually priced as £14.99 on the wooden fine wines racks along with Cloudy B. at £19.99 and pink Bolly at £49.99. Plenty of dust in there
I had to do some foot work to get this offer.
I decided to find the suited & booted wine manager, Jay, and then we interrogate their in-store computer. Tesco have the fine wines in a different folder (data base), so I asked him to look for any HQ instructions for an offer on this wine. He was pretty suprised when it turned up the instruction to offer at £11.99 "Oh...We should'ov dun this" he says. There are some horizontal dusty bottles with those blue security tops on, that I begin to pull out from the back, I say, can you check the stock room on the computer ? Yep, we have two boxes round the back, it is cool in there, would a full box do ? Not arfff........
I'm now pretty chuffed, I have a smart unopenned black box of 6 x Villa Maria Taylors Pass 2012 sauvignon blanc for £53.95 ! Yeah.....He wrote the till code on the box for the discounted price, so avoiding any embarrasment at the till.
A very smart dinner party bottle it is - here's hoping the contents are as tidy. We loved what Vavasour did with Awatere fruit in '09 & '10, and I enjoyed the "sancerre on stone & shale steroids" version from Astrolabe Awatere 2010. Interpolation, and a very dry, and slightly cool vintage from Feb 12 till harvest time, implies elegance.
A very happy chappie is me.
It's all down to you Shez - ta very muchly
