how nice does it look tho?!

Shame its an AFF otherwise I'd actually have a crack at it.

Not a massive fan of the black stuff, always think it looks so nice but once I try it I realise I've been duped yet again

I like Beamish.

Had something similar in a pub recently, it was on cask and tasted delicious but I cant remember the name (went on to a wine tasting afterwards and destroyed a few million brain cells).

Me, I hate it (and Marmite). I am told by many that it is completely different in Ireland and MUCH better.

Urban myth, I've drank it in bar at the Guinness Brewery in Dublin and in a number of surrounding pubs, there's no real difference to note.

But, Im no Guinness expert, so....

Yeah, can't believe there is THAT much of a difference over there/. Unless they add a spoon full of sugar to it, it aint gonna taste any better IMO

Often wonder what it'd be like with a shot of Baileys thrown in...

Have tried it will Tia Maria shot which sweetens it up but still aint quite right

...and Guiness and Black is just medicinal ! :qofyuk:

[edit] and Ba... Marmite rocks !

Rumour has it that in and around Dublin it is not pasteurised. Maybe it is a psychological thing but it does seem to taste better whenever I've been over there.

Oy oy oy ...

'Bout 15 yers ago, the Liffey was as mmmurkie as a pond in a quarry pit.

Nah ! Take a trip down ta Killarney, and that there black stuff is as sweet as the very peat unda ya feet.

Now the sensible bit:

But, since me thinks the brewery in Dublin is now closed, that's probably all bullshit......now.

Yeah, I'll take a drop of black with the cream topping, once - inna - while.

Hands up who hasn’t tasted a wine on holiday (caught up in the romance of your surroundings) and loved it, only to bring a bottle or two home, open it and think, eh, that's not how I remember it......

Re Guinness, if there are subtle differences to the taste, it may have something to do with the water used, Diageo now produce this in a number of sites around Europe, they can’t all be using the same well.

Talking of romance, I had a girly-friend once who liked to drink a 50/50 mix of draught Guinness & scrumpy.

On the subject of ...

10 stories that could be April Fools... but aren't.

I particularly like this one...
