100% Prugnolo Gentile. This wine is produced from grapes grown around the town of Montepulciano in the heart of Tuscany. The grapes are gently pressed and fermented with selected yeasts at a temperature of 22° C for 20 days. The wine is aged in large oak barrels for 2 years. Winemaker ~ Leonardo Chesi at Cantine Baroncini. Perfumed, rotting, lovely, violet aroma. Very oaky and perfumed in the mouth. The alcohol is a little forward but the farmyardy, leathery taste is fabulous. With half a % of alcohol less it would definitely have a star. A real food wine. Great for dinner parties.
