If any wine can be described as beautiful then this surely is it.

A blend of muscat and gewurztraminer with the muscat dominating the flavour and the gewurz just adding richness.

Sensational !

Fantastic with Chinese food

I think I saw this in Morrison’s the other day, if it wasn’t for the fact the Peter Lehman Barossa Riesling had been reduced to £3.99 with only three bottles left I would have given it a go. It’s an attention thing, I live with it. :( :D

Can't believe that this has not had a mention in 2 yrs! I get mine from Waitrose when on offer. I do like to cuddle my Esmy, can't afford the Alsace that I adore and this is a great ersatz.

Light and floral, off dry, girls' lunch wine (at only 11%, I think) but quite flighty. Attractive for a short time and then off. No length, but length isn't always necessary.

What's it's current RRP? I don't think I'd pay more than £5.99 for it and would be happier with less.

£6.99 at majestic.

This wine was a fave for corporate dinner starters in the 90's .

The bottle appearance is more upmarket these days, it use to look more like a tall and slim Vina Sol.

This wine has many fans, and is / was 100% better than that dire Kumala rubbish.

Muscat & Gwerts, it may age a little and then acquire a superior flavour ??
anyone know ??

I think we need to establish a line.

We should support Torres ? In order to keep Blossom and Kumala in the sewer where they belong.

I've almost never been impressed by Torres. I think Vina Sol is neutral, Sangre de Torres lacklustre but once did like the Gran Sangre. I think the Esmerelda is 6/10, but no more.

Personally, then, no.

Actually, they do an upmarket Chardonnay, I think, can't remember the name, but I rather liked that.

Sangre de Torres lacklustre - Yeah deff confirmed.

Catalunya country and Penedes:

I'm thinking Coronas, and gran Coronas (Temp and Cab) nice. Move up the money, and in Chile as well, nice cab. Good spanish twist to gran Coronas, and it ages quite well.

Mel, for Readers - We move them away from complete pap and total dross and confected gunk.

And Gallo, someone bought their rose' around one sunny afternoon - Truly disgusting. Gallo goes in to the sewer - Their upmarket stuff is rubbish as well.

Remember Mellow Birds ? That tasteless muck, coffee lovers destroyed that Brand. Drinkers of Mellow Birds, and mothers-in-law who bought it were proven to be morons.

That is why we draw lines for Readers.

Kumala and Blossom should be deleted from all supermarket offer spreadsheets - They are a virus, that infect potential wine enjoyers.

I sometimes thing that BH etc should be deleted from the offers page. However, they sell an enormous amount and you have to assume that some of those people are QO readers, and so no deletion.

25,000 glasses of BH are drunk every hour.

Beg to differ - we point them into the right direction for only a small amount more a bottle.

They don't know any better.

The real ale campaign changed the beer world and only cheap high alc supermarket larger louts exist now.

To educate, you are obliged to discriminate
