Winemaker and winery: David Guimaraens, Quinta da Roeda.
Grape variety: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela.
Region: Douro Valley, Portugal.
Viticulture/Vinification: A short pre-fermentation maceration gives a pale colour and avoids the extraction of astringent tannins. Cold settling prior to a cool fermentation in stainless steel enhances the freshness and elegance of the fruit.
Sweet, spicy aroma. Sweet, but clean and actually rather nice. Definitely worth trying and less of a financial output than the Croft Pink, at £9.99 for a bottle, but this is 50cl, so the Croft is cheaper per cl, but less scary.
