Winemaker and winery: Owen Elias, Chapel Down.
Grape variety: 45% Reichensteiner, 35% Sylvaner (Muller Thurgau) and 15% Pinot Noir.
Region: Kent, Sussex and Essex.
Viticulture/Vinification: The start of the harvest was delayed due to cooler than average weather conditions. Average age of vines is 20 years old. Grapes are grown mostly on limestone and clay soils. Juice is fermented in stainless steel vats between 14 -18ºC, then racked, sterile filtered, cold stabilised and aged on lees for 18 months before disgorging. The wine does not spend any time in oak.
200 Stores.
Interesting, quite savoury aroma. Green, clean and bordering on the sharp. Long flavour. Not bad.
