Shiraz/Grenache/Mourvèdre
50% Shiraz, 35% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre with an average yield of 20hl/ha. The Grenache hails from 2 vineyards, both almost 50 years old. The Syrah is hand-harvested from 8 year old vines, whilst the Mourvèdre is the first crop from a new vineyard. 10% of the Shiraz is aged in American oak. Grapes are cold-soaked, inoculated and cold-fermented till dry with 2 pumpovers per day, then racked to 2nd fill barrels.
Spicy, warm smell. Oaky and spicy with some furry tannins – like it.
Alc 14.5%. Available from Wine Direct and 11 branches.
