100% Primitivo, harvested mid-Sept from 30 year old vines. Destemmed and crushed, 15 day fermentation and maceration, then pressed at dryness. Malolactic and several rackings in Nov/Dec, then moved to Castelboglione cellar where majority of blend goes to 80hl large format slavonian cask and approx 20% to 2nd/3rd use French oak barrique for 10 months. Rather a metallic smell. Juicy fruit and some liquorice in the mouth. Rustic. Alc 14%, TA 5.75g/l, pH 3.64. Available from Wine Direct and 192 branches. 15/10/2008
