Yeah, I like Pomies Argassac, which is the second wine of Chateau D'Agassac Cru Bourgeous Superier. If you can find vintage 2002, super ripe 2003 or classic 2005 for similar money, it would have earnt a STAR for sure.
The grand vin performs like a 3rd or 4th Cru Classe in MHO, and is lush "exotic"
even in an indifferent year. The producers here work very hard, and for the difficult 2004 had to prune leaves from the vines so that the sun could penetrate the best fruit below.
That is why I say, IF you find the easier / better years for similar *Dosh, you won't be dissapointed. *£16.99 is a bit OTT though for most years, except 2005 when bought 'ready' for supping in 2010.
