Mint, liquorice and blackcurrant on the nose. Rich, New World style. Ripe and full. Not elegant, but a great party wine.

This is now on offer at Somerfield, £5.19

I enjoyed this, uncomplicated, lacking a little structure with little to no tannin to speak about but is bright, deeply flavoured, a touch smokey (which I adore in reds) and went well with last nights chili con carne.

-edit, Just checked, mine was the 2003.

The list Somerfield sent me said 2006, hence my not linking the offer to the note. Perhaps I should have a different icon for tasting notes of same wine, diff vintage? In the NW it doesn't always matter, but sometimes things really change. Will think about it.
