15% Cabernet. 70% aged in American oak for 8 months. Really lovely Carmenere smell and American oak. Chocolate and coffee taste. Love it, and its price.

This is now on offer at £4.49

Lovely stuff, sweet toasted nuts and ovaltine, smooth and chocolaty.

Thanks for this information. I have read write up re this wine elsewhere. However, my OWN experience of this grape in the past is not so good. Having tried it in other wines, found it disappointing, but maybe due to the bottles being off in some way, so have avoided this grape recently. But may give this one a go.

the grape can be beautiful but be careful of those at 14.%+ because it can be as hot as hell and then it's dire.

I find the "house of the devil" wines particularly good value. Another Carmenere of note is the Carmen Reserva, which Waitrose sometimes have reduced to around the eight quid mark.

Just about the best value wine of this grape type on the market right now. I love the spice! I have to say that the Casillero del Diablo brand produce some great tasting and good value wines.
