Off dry, simple, very short and lacklustre finish. Doesn't seem to have progressed much since Mel's previous 05 & 07 reviews.

Sainsbury's Plantagenet and Morrison's Premier Vouvray beat this hands down for interest and complexity, also a couple of quid less.

Domaine de la Pouvraie - never heard of, or tried that one ? The Majestic and Waitrose vouvrays are better - as we know. But one has to try at least one to find out - cheers for that.

Rev. Viog, your expertise is sought - There is a Delas produced Viog on M&S that is on offer. heavily discounted just now. The fruit is from the vin de pays d'Oc, not northern Rhone, the M&S write up in the speil says Chilean - a basic error when you look at the wine label - Duh ?

Laying that aside however. Have you seen this wine before ? Have you tried this Delas cuvee', if so, what did you think ?

Buyers have to buy six to get the discount.

Cheers for now, thanks.

Yeah OK Ba, I don't think that's your site  I'm working, yet I have a very heavy head cold - nasty sinus pain, is my excuse. Speed site trawling last night, the ole memory this morning was rubbish for detail. As GK has noted, nothing makes more sense than an oxymoron.

Anyway, I'm looking for a bit of sympathy.

Delas is the reason why I ask this question. But my only experience with them, was their Cornas, that you could buy from Oddbins without spending a fortune.

Thanks Ba,
I've been having honey in my mug, and mansize Kleenex on hand. Sex isn't on my agenda just now. No folks would wanna get that close ! This one is a bit of a stinker.
Sorry, TMI

Duncan -
Haven't tried that one - VDP Viognier is a pretty varied quantity. I prefer a bit of lees and oak so I won't won't be diving in without trying a bottle - but this one is online only so probably won't get a chance.

Ditto on the cold this week... :(
