Online still showing '2009' and with 25% off (2 cases offer).

My (little) store has only 2010.

2010

Still paler than the 09 and more acidic but it's closing the gap....slowly.

Dunc, will the 2011 and 2012 Southern Burg's be poor like Sancerre

I liked the '10 Maconnaise, so rate the St, Veran, but these very southern appelations were even better with a little oak in 2010. Vinzelles, Mercurey, Fuisse are all good for the 2010. Old vine macon villages - very nice and balanced for the '10 vintage.

There is a positive and favourable rumour about '12 in the Cotes de Beaune not proven at the affordable end of the spectrum where we inhabit. So Until I get my laughing gear around them - I dare not say anymore.

11's will be much more dilute than the previous 2 years, perhaps racy in the expensive domaines, where canopy management and work every other day in the run-up to harvest to manage the sitation in the vineyard....... Big weeds as well as very long grass were real problems, holdimg moisture and encouraging rot on the lower fruit. Again it is early days for me to say what I think of the one's that I can afford. The vintage reports talk of a topsy-turvy chaotic (arse-about-face) growing season, a very warm spring at flowering, and then, the grey cloud in mid June and July, and then, later with hail and huge amounts of rain in the deep south of the cotes d'Or. Nuits were said to have faired a bit better, and it was dryer north of Saint Georges. Some growers harvested early, others harvested late. Trouble in Chablis as well more so in the petite chablis region, off the piste as it were.

Google if you want a more detailed idea of the hassle growers had to suffer

Sorry G, can't help you more - where you find '10's in reliable warehouse / retail conditions, - Buy.

G - dont write off everything on the 2011 - smaller producers will overcome many of the problems - also late harvested burgundies were saved a bit by the 'old friend' the seasonal & drying northerly winds.

G, There is an old vine 2009 Montagny at Majestic from the Buxy cave that could be good for you - £7.99. You must drink this wine this Summer, but I'd risk a couple, when topping up your MSB stocks. I don't know this particular one, but Buxy are a lot better IMHO at making authentic wines than the Blason outfit.

Just a thought.
