Dry, austere white wine when chilled. Cabbage water when warm.

High acid.

Poor wine poor value.

Majestic put you in the direction of a bum steer !

They have to sell the '11 ! Asking for it helps - For the sake of your bank account, keep away from the '12 in the Loire. Those bl**dy unfortunate growers had to suffer a summer that was nearly as crap as ours - We've been spoilt with a succession of good to great vintages, cos of the fine weather, and bright late September's to save the day.

Cabbage can be nice and sweet on the palate when only the inside is harvested, for 2012 though, I'd predict it will be as tart as hell.

Quote: No hurry to move on quite yet For the sauvignons of the Central Vineyards (Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Reuilly and Quincy) there is no hurry to move on from the perfectly balanced 2010s. Nor in Muscadet, where 2011 was truly challenging, and where the good 2010s are still beautifully fresh; later bottlings having been kept on their fine lees until the autumn.

Cabbage water is an aquired taste I suppose. Not to mine but it may have been to his. I can't believe I ditched a Ladoucette for it though.

I don't have a reliable go to Sancerre/PF at the moment.

**I've not acquired it either. I'm not going there. The more I think about it, the more I will search for any remaining 2010s. If the '10s are all gone, I will have to damn well wait. No point in punishing yourself. To be sure though, I'll try a few 11s from the east central area before I pull the shutters down.

*** you weren't to know, with a difficult vintage, it's not until you get your laughing gear around the wine......you just can't tell. At the price though - you could be rather annoyed with a failure.
