This is the same producer as The Sains TTD version, yet a £1 less PB for multiples.
60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10%, Mourvèdre from the foothills of the Cevennes mountains. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve their freshness. The soil is slate with an altitude of 150-205m and average yields of 40hl/ha. The bottle has a cork stopper, Sains a screw cap 14.0%.
The wine is deep purple and full, 14% is tad difficult to take with such spicyness.
The first glass is interesting, but after a while that spicyness is just too much stired-up clove & camphor and palma violets for my palate, "like your grandma's home made moth balls in the wardrobe (Pomander). Gets very tiring for me, so I'd share with 3 others
Not for me I'm affraid, But could appeal to lovers of very spicy rhones, and £6.99 at the mo, I believe, so good value for a well made non generic southern rhone
