François Martenot makes this wine. I bought this during the Tesco wine festival for less than £8. I should have tried to find some more, but it came in a mixed case so I would have to suffer a pair of extra heavy Hollister Peaks Californian chardonnay.

This wine is light, has some minerality and '09 softish fruit that is slightly benign on 1st opening, but it does open satisfactorily after some airing. Acidity is not racy, but enough to balance this softer fruit and lighter style, and there is some citrus and lightly honeyed white flower notes. Not bad at all, no faults and no preservative detected and obviously chablis.

I suppose fairly typical of '09 at this price level, not of course as elegant as the 2008 vintage for a good basic, but a half decent chablis for the price break of say £10.49.

A year later,

Fading now, white flowers have long gone, citrus core lives on strong, two dimensional, now too citric for the fading fruit.

These cheap 2009's are not so clever after time, and, I had to suffer that Californian extra heavy Hollister nonsense in the chardonnay mixed case. I learn.

To be fair, I think I remember Tesco taking back one of those Hollister Peaks without any rebuttals. so the suffering was not so bad.

Drinkable - and, clears space on the racks

Euro prices are rather attractive  Certainly informative

Their wines have been hanging around in the warehouse though, judging from what I flicked through. They quote this chablis on the 2007 vintage in their narrative as a 3-5 year keeper ! The 2008 is on offer in the window.

Their Margaux, say the affordable Paveil de Luze, CB superiour is E20 euro on the indifferent 2007. I'd much rather buy it at around E15 or 16 euro on the 2009 vintage in Carrefour or E. Leclerk. Nice site, but stock is not looking so clever.
