Waitrose offer till September. Only the 2007 is reviewed here.

This wine is from Maison Gabriel Meffe - who from experience know quite a few good growers and talented wine makers in the southern Rhone valley. GM have had their base in Gigondas since 1934.

I have tried the 2007 at the tasting on Friday, I was 'cardless' at the time, and just checking offers. Went on Saturday to secure a box of 6 and it was all 2010 on the shelves - Damn and Blast !
Ocado say they have the '07 but checking the JL (John Lewis) site on Saturday evening and both the '07 and the '09 vintages avaliable online were all gone  Will Ocado supply the '07 for sure ? Who knows.

This '07 Vacqueyras vintage from GM is very lovely, and is ready, but they say it will go another 7 years on the back label (say 5yrs now). The wine is quite light in style, and fresh for a Vacq, yet has a super flavour of grenache, syrah & mourvèdre. A really Lovely fruit lift from ripe Grenache; a nice dark crimson, and beginning to clear to gemstone. Yum yum yum flavour - not too spicy, and discrete oak to support. Just perfect for me as an apperatif or with light meats and game and soft cheese.

I eventually found 6 bottles of 2007 from calling Waitrose stores in Berkshire. The Waitrose Ladies on customer services are very helpfull when you ask them to search the store and stock rooms. A client, local to Wokingham picks-up this great bargain this week for me.

A very nice Rhone rouge wine for the money. I can't speak for the 2010 & 2009 vintages.

Update for Rhone folks:

This Vacqueyras on 2009 has been delivered to some Waitrose stores today. They're all miixed up on the shelves.

Decanter awarded the 09 with a silver. I didn't know till today. Decanter are generally reliable with Rhone wine opinion - so if you like southern Rhone reds, look for the bottles with the silver circle stuck on the corner of the label, and you won't go far wrong.

The '07's are gone as far as I know.
