Dreadful to mediocre for three vintages and then this !!

Wheras the Pouilly Fume at Sainsbury is classic Sancerre this Sancerre is classic Pouilly Fume. Dunc will love it the rest of you just won't get it.

Bacchus will run screaming into the Avon.

All flint and little fruit. Just needs another two years to turn golden and for the acidity to soften.

This is how Ladoucette does it. And that's £22 and upwards a bottle.

Stunning.

No idea if it will age though as it's unoaked.

Damn - I had that in my sights all Tuesday & Wednesday - But - but - but

Goose, knowing that you hadn't done positive reviews on previous vintages here ? - I didn't risk it. I believe, it is now out of stock.

Damn :( . Such is your prowess wth these Mr G.

I have a new '09 Chablis for tonight, so hopefully, some consolation

Tried to grab this in the Wine Festival on a mixed 6, but all local stores still on 2008.

I confirm that also. None on the '09 here, nor any '08 seen on the shelves either ?
Regional Store Sancerre stocking policy at Tesco ? - It appears so. There may be insufficient UK supplies to go round all the mega stores.

Yeah - Preservatives, sulphites and fixing & fining can go off the rails with these SB and Chard whites. More so apparent, and therfore more prominent with those wines, where we are looking for subtle minerality or a delicate honeyed finish to a savoury start. Sadly, I think the mechanical and dosing faults occur more where or when the wine is bottled later, from a bulk tank and transport logistics. Dom and Chateau bottled wines are supervised better by the proprietors or manager producers on location. I can't remember when I last experienced this problem from a more expensive, and declared Dom bottled wine.

I don't think we've become ultra sensitive, and over particular.
