I love this wine. Excellent smell - spicy, woody. The taste's a bit bretty (aka farmyardy), but I love it. Refreshing acidity. It really is good. Generally £6+, but on offer from time to time.

If any of us see this on offer again, be sure to shout loudly.

Most definitely yes. I only have 2 bottles left. Last time I checked it was £8.99 full price.

Back on offer at my local, £3.99, plus the usual discounts, -5% for x6, -10% for x12 (taking the bottle price down to £3.59

What do you think guys, will the '06 still be going strong?

They also have a load of the '03

Nice one. I check this everytime I go in Co-op. I imagine it is still good (the '06). I have noticed some 03's in the odd store round here

Mrs T is at Asda, I have just poured a glass so I will have to leave it until she gets back so I can nip out and stock up. Love this stuff, I was very annoyed I didn't pick up more last time it was on offer.

 Not on offer here. Must be local clearance or something.

It's not on Mel's offers, or on the Midland Co-op offers.

I reckon it's worth getting at least 6, GK. Buy a single to try, if your not sure.

I looked in a branch nearer to home this morning, no LCM there either. Must be select branches.

T, did you say you were drinking a glass of the '06? How is it?

A little research suggests the '06 drinking window is 2008~2014 although this fella prefers to keep his longer.

I have 12 in de boot.

No, somet else. Fairhalls Cliff MSB 09 if you're interested.

Was it in the big supermarket store or convenience? There are no supermarket stores around here, anymore. There is an ex Somerfield, but I am farily sure they don't stock it.

Its an average size store, nothing spectacular. I just checked my receipt, the header says- The Midcounties Co-Operative.

This could explain why my other store, which falls under Midlands C0-Op, does not have it on offer.

Ahhhh! Now we have Midland's C. Mid-Counties' C, and C Ordinaire. Explains why I don't get any of those offers. Bah

Ba ..... Don't - have you tried county towns outside Bristol ?

I have searched a couple of Berk Shires Co-ops. The Cuvee Mythique owl has been seen in larger stores hitherto, and I may make a few phone calls in search of a few '03s and '05s. Yep, for ole time sake, as I enjoyed the super ripe, with heavy but broad and generous tannins in the Chat Neuf '03 so a similar mix further south is going to be a supping pleasure for the Summer evenings on the patio this year.
I agree with GK's drinking window, the 03s and 05s going on a bit longer - in theory.
