Currently on offer, £4.75 / £5.50 Tesco.

I’m going to totally disagree with Victoria Moore’s comment of a 'disappointing nose', link. A rich, meaty and herby nose flows from the glass and stalls the tasting, delightful. A bright and weighty Grenache with balanced sweetness. Lovely mouth feel with juicy, plumy jam flavours and a fresh raspberry juice finish. Lively, youthful and delicious.

Old vine Grenache can produce wonderful gluggers with lovely mouthfeel. That's really pleasing GK. And......At only £4.75, a great bargain. Enjoy.

I would join you, had I not ordered Chapoutier '09 Belleruche and the Cotes du Roussilon villages Bila Haut '09.

There is some tremendous glugging stuff coming out of the south of France. Catalan cab can be superb also, as in the Alt Penede's. Jean Leon's cabernet sauvignon Reserve was less than a tenner when I first discovered it over 20 years ago - now, completely out of my leaque.

Yep - those vineyards and the management down there is coming of age. We should take our pleasure with these.

I will take one if I find myself in a larger Tesco.

Opened a bottle of this on Sunday evening. Screw cap, classic label with maker's signature.

The wine is quite full, and very bright as GK says. For a '10, remarkably ungreen. A good wine with a nose that is enough to get you started. Very good straight out of the bottle, and it was nice and juicy at cellar temp.

All of the above per GK, and good value. Neat Grenache may not appeal to everyone as an apperatif, I found the wine excellent when taken in half glasses (rather than swigging neat uninterupted) and good with new bioled potatoes with lashings of butter and pepper and a crusty vegetarian pie with loads of spinach & tiny leeks and mozzarella inside.

A real bargain at GKs £4.75 introductory buying price, I paid (7.49 less 25% = £5.61) less 5% for any six.
