Once again, this is so different with changing temperature. Clean, crisp at 6c, very complex at 11c and nice at everything in between. Similar to last year, and has that weird dank nose in the empty glass. Has some serious price competition at the mo. though.

I couldn't persuade you to try a Pioneer Block then...

I had an 09 JE the other day. The phenols had gone but a touch of sulphur that just wouldn't shift let it down. There was some underlying blackcurrant which is the trademark of Jackson. But not much.

Hard to believe that past vintages of this were so good that most MSB lovers inc me wouldn't of dreamt of paying more than a tenner ( or whatever this cost in those days ).

I'm a great fan of Pioneer Block -- and St Clair in general.

I bought the Stich because I remember reading great things about it on this very board :)
