With the current double discount these are down to £4.86. I've not tried any of my 2 yet. Is it worth getting more at this price Duncan?

Tinpot Hut? I haven't seen this, but a quick search and it would appear that although no supermarket stocks it, it is available in a lot of independents. I'l have a look next time I'n in my local indy.

Yes,

'07 Rhone and a good Crusted port

3 x Michel Chapoutier '07 Côtes du Roussillon and 2 x Tain Crozes Hermitage "Les 3 Lys" '07 gives you some decent house red with interest and 1 x Graham's Crusted '02, to qualify for the 25% promo, and you have a very good value 6 box for £33.70.

Yeah, makes a load of sense, and doesn't hurt the card.

Cheers

I got the double discount on the Chapoutier last time around. Not tried these but have a soft spot for Roussillon having visited a few producers there. Do you think its worth getting more at £6.75?

A couple of the others I fancied that are on double disco are the RW Lodi Zinfadel which I have not had for ages but always used to be pretty good, and the Yali Carmenere that Mel starred recently.

Tribs,

I ploughed my way through most of another bottle of this last night.

It was really great for the dosh and this bottle definitely gets a :qofgoodvalue: when on the double disco. Also a fair cop at £6.49

Significant bottle variance on this one, I sincerely hope the others I have are from the same batch.

Lovely, and more approachably satisfying, fuller and better fruit than the expensive Jean Luc-Colombo from Waitress. My only minor complaint was the lack of a tannic streak / scaffolding, that the JLC Crozes had more of....But it weren't soft in the head and stupid.

The M. Chapoutier Cotes de Roussillon was back to £8.99, no extra disco, so Sainsbury's read my post when I scored last time. Damn, I should keep schtung .....

I've been pigging out on '07 Rhone, I hope it doesn't all end in tears, if, or when the hyped '09s turn out to be an upbeat Hype.-

I was browsing a vintage chart the other day. It had Southern Rhone as a 10 for 2007. 2009 was only an 8 but time will tell. I'm glad of this as I have a good few of these now. Will open one soon.

In the two stores I visited they were running low on the 07's. The new stock coming in was 06 :?

Get Well Soon Mr T, then you can take another tannic hit with pleasure

IMHO .....Cheap '06 southern rhone is not a safe punt blind - but then - versus the '08s blind ? Tricky
