Might have to make it my white of 2010 in terms of flavour and bang for buck. With very strong support from Ba "Vav in vitro. Luuuuviiit" as well as 94/100 from Bob Campbell

The three of us are in accord :) I finished the last glass of wine 20 hours later (cap on and fridge between glasses) , and I liked the very small amount of development that had occured. So for keeping for a bit, it is safe. For stability, bottle consistency, particularly QPR, and general authenticity of the style, this Vavasour Awatere '09 is right up there.

Goose, would you say this wine was correct Awatere SB ? I know it is a bit fleshy for you (if I remember properly), Ok.

Dunc,

You're all delusional and puddled to boot !

Vavasour 09 is an awful example of an Awatere MSB. I say this for three reasons

1- Villa Maria Clifford Bay Reserve is by far the best Awatere wine out there and you should only drink the best.

2- I haven't actualy tried the 09 V only the 08 which was a poor wine.

3- Wales failed to beat Fiji and Cardiff City just lost to Robin Hood and his merry men and i'm not in an agreeable mood.

Puddled all of you..

Opened mine tonight (SC Estate R 10)

First mouthful was promising. Straight from the garage so freezing cold, but just as the finish was all but gone and I'm wondering what Goose is on about, there is something there. Subsequent glasses up to fridge temp and beyond get worse. Sugary and phenolic. Not terrible, but compared to other SC wines, disappointing. Lets see if it improves tomorrow

altho my sample selection of whites has been rather limited this year...

Shez,

Reminder.

Vavasour Awatere Valley Marlborough NZ Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Majestic network may be running out of the 2009. I phoned in yesterday, and reserved the last 5 bottles in my local today. No more is due in, I checked with Mark......When it's gone........... it's

BTW, I still 'ave 3 x JE07 left, bigger noises than us, are saying the '07s are holding well, for me, probably holding beautifully :)

Cheers

I don't think people who still have JE 07 should be allowed to post.
