Unknown producer from a famous region unearthed by the Co Op as a Christmas bargain special offer ( down from £12.99 ha ha ).

Surely, by now, only a complete berk would fall for this nonsense.

This wine is an absolute joy. Gooseberry with a touch of nut on the finish.

Just how I llike my Loire.

Fiill yer boots.

I am the proud owner of 3x 6 bottle cases.

Put up a tasting note when you try it. I need to know how you would describe my ' touch of nut '.

Touch of nut is a classic finish on a Sancerre/PF/Menetou Salon yet it's only me that ever describes it so.

Please don't say it's verdant.

Anything but verdant.

Btw...I saw a youtube video of Jancis in the US talking to Gary Vaynerchuck. I like him. He's even pottier than I am about sb. Is he respected amongst you wine pro's or is it a case of

Mr G,

Struth ! I started this post half an hour ago, then went to fix a ceiling rose for my Misses. Mel says in Store then ?

3 half cases ? Means that you ADORE this wine.

Can you buy in Store ? Or online only ?

How is the oak - nicely integrated, with just the nut on the end of the thread, it sounds puuurfick for you.

Any middle - or crystal clear as you like em

G, if its any consolation, I don want bloody verdant either, I like my wine to be vinus, thank you very much

I've also seen the video but haven't heard of him otherwise. I also find nut on things. Sauvignon de St Bris from Waitrose and various others.

Will never use the word verdant, I promise.

Is this a wind up Goose?

I can find no evidence of its existence online. Don't make me go on a wild Goose chase round the local Co-ops.

Dumont Fumé is well known and liked, but I've not seen it in these parts. If G has found some secreted away in the Co-0p, it must be worth a go. However.....

The wine exists and is one of the Co-Op's in store Christmas specials. However, I was being ironic.......there was a clue

Surely, by now, only a complete berk would fall for this nonsense.

:?

I've never been any good at reading irony.

Is this wine rubbish then?

I was given a taste no more. It's like the Fouassier Grand Groux that the Co Op sell. Dry with odd fruit and no minerality at all.

A poor Loire sb and just what one should expect from wines that appear as if by magic.

Sorry for any confusion but I really did expect you all to see that I wasn't being serious.

Now down to £7. Had another glass given to me. Dry, more than a splash of orange zest. Little minerality but there is something trying hard to escape.

It's almost there but not quite.

If this was Touraine i'd probably be impressed....but it's not.

It's really not bad but don't be tempted if you do find it.
