Fresh pear and peardrops on the nose – fragrant, but not promising. A slight prickle in the mouth. Warm alcohol, watery and with lemony acidity. Not great.

slight fizz feel when too cold.
Once up to temp there were fresh citrus notes of grapefruit & lime and some greenpepper
not bad but there are just as good Chilean SBs at better value for money

Shez, I've been there just once for a single, and at 11 quid ! Mel sums it up.

Even with multi discount, which is how I took one on apro ......don't waste space in your cellar.

There is some hype on this Matetic EQ thing ? Who put that out into the media ?

Dunc, the EQ SB was part of a mixed case I received as a gift forr fathers day.
Drank a while back now but only noticed I hadn't stuck a note up.
Wouldn't go there again

I have a bottle of 2008 Errizuzuzuzuzuzuruzaz Single vineyard SB to try still from said case

Not had a go at your one Goose. Still prefering NZ SB to Chilean for now

Interesting tho to see however that the Decanter International trophy winners for SB under and over £10 both went to Chilean producers (Viña Mayu, Sauvignon Blanc, Elqui Valley, Chile 2009 for sub £10 & Viña Casa Marin, Sauvignon Blanc Cipreses Vineyard, San Antonio, Chile 2009 for over £10)

Shez, I'm with you on this ?

Still - I'm going to give Mr Goose's recommendation a go. The Chileans could do with the business after that earthquake. We need to check it out. Cheers G.

There was a temporary hype running for that Matetic EQ at Maj ?? Starting price was pretty strong ! The small print on the back label was glowing....but that's where the pantomime ended.

I hate it when that happens.

I am sipping a delightful SB at present...

My favourite Co-op Estate Reserve MSB. Back in at Co-op £4.99. Picked up a couple to add to my stock. Thought I'd check its still good. Divine. My favourite SB of the year.

Despite multiple visits to multiple Co-ops, I have never seen this wine
The HQ of Somerfield is also here.
