Elder and peapod smell, rather that gooseberry. Tangy, pure, highly acidic tasting. Refreshing and very good.

I went to a wine merchant in the Vale of Glamorgan last week and they had Cloudy Bay 2006 for £19, Jackson Estate 2005 for £11, Saint Clair 2006 for £10 and Clifford Bay 2005 for £14.

They also had Jolivet Sancerre 2004 for £14 and Ladoucette Pouilly Fume 2004 for £22

I was in sauvignon heaven...I asked the owner which of his sb's was his favourite and he replied in a deep French accent..

.." I love Oyster Bay, monsieur. For sure it is the most perfect cer vee yon blonc "

I just sighed and shook my head...

I can never make up my mind about it...sometimes it's very good and sometimes it's so lame it's barely recognisable as Marlborough.

Still...just to let you all know that Somerfield undercut the others on this and sell it for £6.99 and have it on offer at the moment for £5.99

Do you have a Thresher 40% off voucher this time round? If not, and you want one, email me at mel@ the website name and I'll send the link back.

Have just stocked up in a major way. Stoneleigh at £4.66 for everyday drinking - ideal!

Hi Mel.

Thanks for the offer but someone put up a link to the 40% off voucher at The Motley Fool UK wine lovers board.

I printed it off and bought a case of Leasingham Magnus for £4.80 a bottle and Saint Clair sb for £7.20.

Sainsbury have 25% off any 6 bottles at the moment.

Cheers
G

The Pouilly Fume, Fournier in Tesco is reduced from 18th to £6.99. I think it's great.
