There you go, and that's bigger than the requested 80x80p.

Yeah, that's right 80 x 80 = 6,400 bits = 6.4k (Duh, not 60k as I wrote ealier today)

Tribs your file at 4k must be compressed, and then it is decompressed when it displays in the avatar box.

The corks are on my hard-drive, cant upload that pic until the bug is fixed, site wont let me upload from my HD.

I guess I could upload it to flikr and link from there, if I can be bothered....

There is a bug there ? I didn't know. GK it is the same phpBB format as last time.

Do you get a Win error message and what does it say - if you can remember

Therefore, Mel may not be able to upload a resident avatar (pic)

cheers

The problem is as I explained on page two of this thread.

I think the best way for you to understand is to see for youself, try and upload an image from your HD, see what happens.

Of course this bug may be linked to whatever browser we are using, in which case it becomes more complicated...... :?

If it helps Mel, I uploaded my resident greyscale image in Win IE6.2xx. running in XP pro, but like many others in business and high home users, We were forced to move over to IE8.xxx when Web formats, Java and Symantec AV, started to blow our Motherboards out with too many instructions.

I've dumped Norton (Symantec) for AVG. I'm now using a 7.2 gig triple core processor and raid technology on twin, identical twinning big hard drives.

Simon is a wizard, he built the new machine for me.
