Duncan, I don't know whether anyone else grows/makes Pinot Noir in Franschhoek. There's only about 128 ha of PN planted in the entire Paarl region of which Franschhoek is a small ward.

The Estate Selection wines made for Majestic and the Co Op are quite ordinary by comparison to the VC. The VC may be the cheapest but it's a big step up on the tart Saint Clair basic and the tasteless PB 18.

If Thresher were still around and still selling the VC I wouldn't even bother drinking JE.
