The cheapest MSB ever !

Nobilo can be good and the first glass of any bottle has always been perfect with pungent blackcurrant and nettles. The problem has been that the flavour never lasts beyond the first glass.

This vintage is poor. No blackcurrant, no nettles just a vague grassyness that lets you know it's Marlborough.

And it's sweet.

Somebody somewhere send me a 2009 worth getting excited about.

Don't be tempted, Ba...

Nobilo Regional Collection 2005 was battery acid - see my review written before Jayson's video was seen.

But don't take my word for it - Try the worst of them all from Nobilo, their Monkey Bay.

New Zealand's Worst Wine - Episode # 168 on Youtube

New Zealand's Worst White

Our resident MSB guru experiments with £4 quid - why. For heavens sake - Put your 4 quid in the Charity box Goose.

2009 MSB at the Budget end is a bit watery, and the proper tropical notes do fly off - we know that. But Nobilo appears to be the pits.

The guru is supposed to get to the higher points first, it is only from there, that he may view the plains

What's up Goose ? You have a duty to the general public ? to Inform ! Regretably - They will buy cos it's 4 quid -

You will inform our viewers :)

You're being harsh on Nobilo here. You can't judge it on one acidic bottle of 05 drunk mid way through 09.

Monkey Bay, I had a glass of that in the US. An Italian place in Florida. I thought it was tap water and asked to see the bottle for proof that it was wine. I had no idea that Nobilo made it.

More people pass this way, Dunc, to read about tat than they do good wine. So, a negative note on a cheap wine about to flood the shops on apparant special value deals is probably more useful than a positive note on an expensive wine that only 3 people will go out and buy.

That said...I agree...just what is the point of drinking wines like these any more. I should know better. But the shops are still full of 08 what am I to do.

Sainsbury have even taken away the 09 Springfield Estate.

I quite like my Nob. Have a "Limited Release" flagged as a bit watery and the "ordinaire" as fine but nothing special.

Goose - You'll have to go around Azda with a Bill Board on ya back.

Jayson found out exactly the same way - Next day assessment, and Nobilo was the pits. It is not a coincidence. That '05 was in a very cool store Goose - ok, it was out of time.

Yep - Viewers are much Wiser.

I'd have to waste another £4 quid to see if I was harsh. No, dont go there, twice bitten, twice shy.
