Oh my god, have just been jiving after a break of 12 years. It was fab. Remembered most of the moves and had a brilliant time. Laughed like a drain and am shattered. Am def, def going every single Thursday next year.

Happy girl.

I cycled through the Pyranees once, when I were a lad.

In fact, I cycled from St Malo, around Brittany, down the west coast all the way to the hilly bit. Picked grapes, lived in a tent (with a girlfriend). Used up 9 months of my twenty second year. Good memories, fading a touch.

Did you do the 40 mile beach and the dunes?

That's probably the 400 mile beach...this is between Arcachon and Bayonne.

P.S. in fact the next stretch from Arcachon north to Soulac is nearly as long. Without the small gap of the entrance to Arcachon bay, you could walk on the beach for nearly 100 miles. Still loads of fortifications from WWII to be seen. The Dune du Pyla is the largest in Europe, where they do a lot of jiving.

I dont recall visiting many beaches, certainly not ones known by name. Most of the camping we did was 'off site', in fields, when our legs gave out. I remeber it was much more difficult to find privacy around the beaches.
