Do you spot any bargains in there ?

The new fine wines link: Had some trouble extracting that string out of email ?

http://www.tesco.com/wine/product/buyli ... ne%20Wines

Going straight to Cote d'Or I see if I can deduce anything

I have bought and drunk Rob Arnoux / Pascal Lachaux 1er 1999 Gevrey for less than £25, Tesco want nearly £50 for a Lachaux NSG from the same year, and a very similar label design ? It will be a nice 1er mix - I smell a * * *. Fine wine prices are rising steeply again at Tesco.
Lachaux married Robert Arnoux's daughter. He makes quite a few cuvees from the uncommitted parcels, in good years. A mini Potel operation, and was independant of Arnoux's domaines in Vosne Romanee.

We shall see see if they can make a decent fist of this re-jigged venture. They seem to have picked up a load of mixed stock from someone who has folded. It is all pretty recent stuff. Perhaps they intercepted some of Wine Racks suppliers after the crash.

We shall see

A 2004 Didier Dagueneau PF was never on the shelves of any Wine Rack I ever ventured into.

That said, £50/bottle for his basic is a bit steep.

Nice looking list of wines though, Dunc.

Mr G,
Yep, nice looking list - me teasing Tesco per se'. A bit dear for some wines, that I know - but they are on the shelf - so...

Pur Sang £??
Silex £60 now

Only ever seen in Laithwaites, and in Majestic, But, it was owned by the manager rather than on Madge stock. I spose the price has risen since...., what was the last vintage made by him ? Someone else would have racked off the barrels for 2006 and '07 bottling - His mix - No
