A few years ago, my Somerfield wine-buyer pal told me of a cunning plan. Instead of the reduce, reduce, reduce turkey war, Somerfield were going all out immediately.
Off I went, bought a 9lb turkey (at a STUPID price) and a few bits and pieces. Boxing day defrosted it, but failed miserably. It was 9 kg !!!
I took the (cooked) legs plus some other bits and pieces to the Sally Dap on Xmas day. I smelled of turkey for a week.

Lost a bit there with the dates (you didn't have it defrosted at home for a year did you ?! )
but did chuckle at a 9kg turkey you thought was 9lbs. That thing must have been a monster !!

Stuff me now, big boy !
