I do understand clarity - I did analogue PA for college gigs in 69-71. Wish the'd take off the disco bling from the digital mixing desks these days - big subject. We understand the kids.

Anyone for the port advice ?

Punishment - with fewer near misses this millenium, my belief from experience was utter bollocks

Please tip a near miss by email - :)

2 weeks til festivities... anyone got their wine list planned yet ?

I have decided what my wines will be for the big day...

Red: Monasterio de Tentudia ’97, Extremadura (Tempranillo)
White: Domaine Jean-Claude Martin, Chablis ‘08
Port: Warre’s LBV ‘92
Beer: Quick pint down the local at lunchtime, usually Landlord or Abbott.

Not definately settled on mine but line up is currently looking like

-Selection of TtD 12 YO Sherry (Amontillado, Dry Oloroso (drinking while preping the dinner) & PX (to accompany dessert))

-Innes and Gun oak aged beer. currently love this stuff. 6.6% vvol tho so won't have too many, especially as mixing it with sherry and wine throughout the day.

-Frex Vintage Especial 2007. Unless, the Mrs, or my mum chose to purchase some champagne as they're likely to be the only ones drinking it.
Am certain they wouldn't know the difference tho tbf

-Cloudy Bay Te Koko 2005. This may or may not happen. I'm keen to open this but might be the only one drinking it and it seems a shame not to share it with others. Altho on second thoughts....

-Croix de Beaucaillou 2002. At least this is most likely from my current line up. Claret seeming most friendly option as have a brother who claims to no longer be a tempranillio fan (At least Rioja anyway) and a father claiming not to be such a fan of PN (altho I don't think he's experienced anything nice)! So claret is likely to appease all.

am sure one of you guys will be able to let me know whether it is ok to be drinking 02 left bank offerings for Chrristmas....

was tempted to pick up a Clos de los siete magnum from Maj but not sure if that'd be too big (both in power and bottle size) for xmas day

Have the inlaws round for a party on boxing day - fairly big group but none of them are wine drinkers (personally I don't class Liebfrau as wine) so will just be the Mrs and I finishing off any left over bottles from the 25th

-Croix de Beaucaillou 2002.

Shez - A very big wine for a bird, too big and tannic for your family ? for Red meat with your mates, and / with your brother in MHO - ready 2012 a tannic vintage long keeping - fruit should last from a Ducru cuvee.

Got any ripe 2003 cru bourgeois Haut medoc, Petite Chat 2003 Pau or Marg for the bird ?

Te Koko - hmnnn Oh yes - pick the right starter - Q. Do you want to waste this on lovely folks, but nevertheless, who may not be tuned in ?

Shez

I like the look of Xmas day at yours, had I not been on the other side of the globe.

Shez is a gent and a generous fellow - indeed he is.

I won't be able to get away with this -12 YO Sherry (Amontillado, Dry Oloroso. And grandpa has to be in some sort of control.

If that's a joke, it's in poor taste.

That idiot doesn't deserve to be in the same room as Cavendish and Button...unless it's to clean their shoes of course.
Just kicks a ball around for an hour or so each week.

Yea I agree. I didn't get the Kate Bush connection.

I've spent all my life wanting to make love to Kate Bush. I didn't get that with Joe.

As for Ryan Giggs. It seemed to me to be an award for his lifetime achievement rather than an award for what he's done in 2009. Which was mostly keep the substitute's bench warm.

I voted for Andrew Strauss for bashing the Aussies. He wasn't even top 3.
