would think that spring roll wrapper is slightly different but looking at ingredients there isn't much difference so think it could be done if you can master a way to get them to hold together....

that said, deep crispy beefserve in cold pancakes would be v tasty too

Not sure about the cold and uncooked skin. It may be doughy and flabby/floppy,soggy, & wrong texture .

I would lightly crisp under your eye level gas grill with egg white brushed on with the sable thingy to seal-up the parcels. Then turn, keeping an eye on the ball the whole time.

Try grilling a tiny piece first to make sure, the texture is spot on.

The whole frying thing could make them oilly, if you are not skilled at this, or the parcels break open.

Your whole kitchen area around the hob or whatever, will be spattered with tiny burnt oil drops if you attempt the chinese parcel ' Thai or Indian samosa type frying - Smoke, seering heat for seconds has to be employed.

toasting them makes them go solid and non plyable.

You could oven bake them I suppose but it the oil is hot enough I think ddeep frying them is the best option (says he who has never done it before ! :D)

I must butt-out now, I only know Shrove Tuesday pancake mix, made with Mrs Beeton type incredients, where par cooking in a pan, then finishing off under the grill, or wrapping stuff is perfect. Crepes from the skillet work fine to crisp-up under the grill as well - crepe suzette

Yeah, sorry. The batter won't work if you are going elsewhere when it will be cold - needs to be straight out of the pan.
Maybe flour, egg, breadcrumbs twice.

No one here other than Mel and I had duck and pankcakes ?! :shock:

Mel I think the cold/steamed (not batter based) pancake option will work perfectly.

It involves some last min wrapping, which is ok up to a point. May just take ramekins and teaspoons. Have loads of the glass ones left from Gu puddings.

There can be nobody int he world who doesn't eat duck n pancakes.
