I am oft involved with students via the bridge scene. Both big clubs & the county offer free membership and one-third session fees. A few work behind the bars for a while. Many of these progress to the top ranks in the country, it pays to start young. I have recently come across the "bang" unit. This is the SI unit for total alcohol per pound. e.g. a bottle of 12° wine costing £3.49 would have 75/100 x 12/3.49 bangs. i.e 2.8 bangs - strong white cider is by far the leader.
