Ok, got it. Off to empty this lovely bottle of Springfield whilst trying to forget that Wales got soundly blitzed by the Wallabies.

Will email or reply on board if I can't get through tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of the Springfield - given your endorsement, I ought to check this one out.

Great isn't it, Lloyds print out certificates and sell them for real money ( yours ) which they can then pay to the government for saving them from what they forced them to get into in the first place

Of the banks I only hold RBS and i've written off the investment. If they come begging for more they can whistle. I don't trust them any more. What worries me is that these rights issues will only shore up the balance sheet short term and that ultimately the government will take complete control of them.

If this happens then shareholders get diddly squat and will have been seriously ripped off and lied to from one rights issue to the next.

Of course, the hope is that this will be the last cash call and in due course Lloy will be paying dividends again but i'd rather re-invest in companies that are paying them now and don't have bankrupt subsidaries like HBOS to shore up.

It cannot be long before RBS is wholly nationalised and if that happens Lloy will tank in fear that it will be next.

This rights issue will look pretty poor value then.

Ok Dunc. Don't worry. I hardly ever send personal email only business and my spam filter is set not only to delete spam but also to attach the sender's testicles to the National Grid.

So I won't be bombarding your inbox.

I will try and email you again via this site.

Received, cheers Mr G.

A profound statement by Prof. John Kay (econ) on R4: apropos, 000,000 bonuses.

All the money paid out in the city has to come from:....... Yep, you got it.
