Sir,

(sorry GK, I'm not yet bored with NZ sb)

You go into sainsbury's and notice that £4 has been knocked off each of these.

VM Clifford Bay SB 2008
VM Awatwere Valley SB 2007.

There are about 8 bottles only, of which 2 are the Awatwere. These are in the fine wine rack with the tags.

Which of these wines do you buy ?

The Clifford Bay 07 was a wine to die for. 14% alcohol but you'd never have guessed and the flavour was stunning.

When I sipped the last of mine bought at Oddbins for £13.95 I gave a contented yet wistful sigh.

The 08 is not as good but is still a lovely wine. The VM Awatere has never impressed me and there has always been a bit too much warmth on the finish.

But then....you like em' full bodied.

I have made the other choice - there were 2 Awatere left - Bugger - but still have a lovely wine, so t'is good

Many thanks for that info Goose - You know me well,.... minor problem - I don't know either of those VM's.......hopeless isn't it ?

Next Time.................they will be gone, but at least I will know.

To get the extra 5%

I made up the six with *Cht L'Oratoire CNdP* and one Bouchard Chablis to compare with Ba sometime.

Mel *thank you for the Tip Off
