The sale price is £3.00 if you buy six.

Bought the last 10 bottles this morning plus 2x 07 whites to try.

I used this in a Pinot Noir tasting as a good example. Disappointingly I didn't post a note on here. However, having sifted through my notes I find:

Sweet and fruity redcurrants on the nose - summer pudding. The taste has vanilla and summer pudding with medium length. That was the 06 though.

Just got back from Calcot Sava Centre - translated as MEGA Sainsbury's.

Was V. lucky to stumble across another wino on the summer pudding stand, who said he had been buying when at £8.99 - he was loading a basket.

So my haul then =>

2 x L'Esprit Du Fief Crozes Hermitage 2003 £11.24 each - Syrah

I like 2007 Rhone syrah as ya'll know, and can't resist an overblown '03 from a decent producer. CNdP on '03 was lush for me last year.

Then, got me a 5ppl Petrol Voucher and bought 2/3rd's tank of Super for my old cosmos tigeress at 104ppl.

To get my fix of Angst * , I must get a fix when I buy, otherwise I feel lightheaded, and at only £5.24 a bottle, that's bargain angst.

Got Soaked to the whats'it with Stair Rods, as I rushed out in pursuit of Mad Macs bottled pudding.

I was put off going to Tesco and buying all that lovely Bordeaux and instead went to Sainsbury to buy some of this and there was none in stock.

Goose - I did look out for U when picking out the Rhone syrah (fed-up with Grenache and Mouverdre at the mo)

There is a '05 Pauillac in there for £11.74 net (14.99 gross).
From memory I thought it was good & honest Chateau Colombier - Monpelou cru bourgeios 2005. It was a stampede in there, and I was carrying the bootie in a heavy overflowing basket so I could be mistaken. If its not that petite chateau - Ignore me.

Not had the 05 Monpelou, only earlier vintages which to honest I dont rate.

Should be good though being 05 have you tried it though ??

No Rich, not the 05. It was /is still looked after in the La Baronnie stable. Only '03 that I've always liked at Petite prices, as it was ripe and friendly at this level, and the 2000 which was firmer and good value back then. 2001 & 2004 were probably naff, 2002 would have been harder work.

I think it is a good punt for a 2005 at £11. Obviously not ready yet, but based on 2000, I feel it will come good 2011, and better 2012. I did not buy today, I have good E.Leclerk stocks of PC Margaux Listrac St Estephe Graves etcetera

This 05's was bought by Sainsbury's when Sterling was not dodgy. Claret futures look expensive for us. God knows what will happen if sterling continues to decline.

Based on Mel's description this 2007 is even lighter.

Tastes like pale Côte Chalonnaise, never ever had one so pale.

12% - so a Summer quaffer, no legs at all, but who cares at this price.

The Price is amazing, the wine is a Summer PN, regretably NOT amazing though

For me, has a slight gamay note in the nose, when cold, then flies away........ z z z z

Drink chilled if you like, with very thin lightly smoked salmon.

Drink for a Luncheon on the patio next Spring

Drink with the most dainty vegetarian canape's - quite girly.

Pale cherry, pomegranate, vanilla is ever so slight, the twist is faint dried seville orange peel (if that is spice) the twist is of the blood in a small spanish orange thats been in the fruit bowl till the skin is very tight and thin. Only a twist mind. Everthing is pale

Acidity slightly high for the pale ruby fruit, already an orange hue there, if acidity were low though - this would be very girly

Opened a bottle on Saturday night,

Amazing how light in colour it was, youthful nose red cherry with a touch of nutty wiff, soft raspberry with a medium finish very smooth indeed .

Very easy to drink didnt blow me away but for £3.00 glad I bought ten !!

There's an interesting thread over on the WP forum about this wine. Someone picked up a few of the '06 my mistake and reckon its even better!

I'm going tomorrow to see if there's any of either vintage left in my local.

We know this from Mel's note - Thank you Mel . Do you think I didn't try and find it on the back of the shelves ? I would have halved my gains or halved my losses by splitting between them.
