I have my French class tomorrow and we have to prepare, en francais, my ideal dinner party - three people, living or dead, and food.

Obviously, I'll be serving sherry, and so the food part is just a matter of looking at Heston's Wines of Jerez cookery book, but I'm stuck with the woman.

I've got David Tennant, who is just beautiful (too thin, but facially perfect), humorous and a monumental fan of The West Wing, as I am. Married, I know, but this is a dream, so it's OK. The second would be Bradley Whitford, actor in The West Wing and handsome but damaged, as his WW character.

So, I need a woman who's bright, funny, likes sherry, might like American policital dramas and possibly likes eating as much as I do, so I don't look like a pig.

Any ideas?

love JB but I think she might be too anti for pretty boys. DF good but not as good as VW, who I ditched because she's too everyday.

Nigella would almost do.

Thanks for suggestions so far.

If you get JB and this girlie, they can eat the men and you won't need to cook, easy game.

Victoria Wood - Jennifer Saunders - Kate Bush, she's put on a bit of weight.

If you invite Kate Bush can I come.

Which way. I agree, no competition, but perhaps not for the same reason.

Kate Bush of course. Obviously she wouldn't be allowed to sing.

Another vote for Victoria Wood, preferably with Julie Walters, both in character, Miss Berta & Mrs Overall..

"Get a whiff of that. Nothing more irresistable than the smell of a mature woman's macaroon."

BTW, welcome to our newest member, Gandalf.
