Ba....tell us whether you liked the Coteaux. How does it compare to the Champteloup and the La Grille.

It should be a cut above as it's a Central Vineyards ( Sancerre ) appellation

Very cheap at £6.99

I am looking forward to the "next-day" JE & probably even more so to the Coteaux (Sunday). I used to like La Grille, but it now seems a little too sharp. Champteloup on the other hand, whilst pleasant enough, seems to be a sheep in wolf's clothing.

Have you had the Maipo ?

Yes, the 2008 La Grille is a pale shadow of past years. Just like a standard vin de pays. I quite liked the Champteloup. It reminded me of another Waitrose sb, St Bris. A Chablis appellation I think. Both wines had an odd but pleasant peanutty aftertaste.

I haven't had the Maipo but have seen it. Sainsbury I think. I'm going there this afternoon so will buy a bottle if it's there.

They have some new wines in so want to check them out.

Just been highly recommended on Sat Kitchen to go with some nuclear-waste prawns with atomic-chilly and garlic pollutant. Yer man waxed lyrical for ages.
