Can anyone recommend a really good Provence rose without having to pay Bandol prices.

How about a Provence tasting session, Mel. They have a style of their own and are quite different from other Southern French rose

You only happen to be looking at the pinnacle of breed for a mediterranean Rose' - I dont think there are many uk folk who would understand that unique flavour.

Many yaers ago friends always drove back from Aix de Provence with a boot full. I never had a bad one :) Some were exceptional, and would age as well. Perhaps the crunch will steady prices ? The good'uns are dear.
I don't know where to begin in finding * singles in the UK. Research is the answer. Check out that link, and see if you can find ....... Sorry Goose

I can see exactly where you are coming from - these wines have great acidity, and will cut the palate beautifully, great depth of flavour, That is very different, very unique, - right up your street 8)

* Tony Laithwaite, may have some, he does not bulls*h, or a trip to Theale in Berkshire if they have a Rose event coming up - I'll meet you there if you're serious.

Thanks for the link.....I shall seek and find what I can and report back. Domaine Tempier Bandol rose gets ratings of 90+ on CellerTracker but is a £15 - £20 wine.

The supermarket Provence offerings are quite dull.

The problem with Laithwaites is that so many of his wines are by the case only. You cannot mix and match. He does have a great list though. As good as The Wine Society perhaps.

I pass the signs for Theale on my way to Maidenhead. Will let you know whan I am next up that way and we can meet for a glass or 6 of something no matter whether there is a tasting on.

Maybe we could all meet up and have a board social

I'm up for either of these. The drive back means that we need to be restrained. Looks like 4 blokes and an abstracted MW Mistress to educate us
