I can't reply on that thread as it's for moderators only.

I wouldn't mind going actually....but i'm Welsh. I'll only drink all the sauvignon, get drunk and insult the English.

It always happens !

Offa didn't build that dyke for nothing you know.

Didn't realise it was for moderators only. Will re-post and email you when I've set a date. There are very few Sauvignons in those big, heavily reduced brands, and still fewer Pinot Noirs.

I'm planning a big tasting of all the most-reduced wines. Wines that seem to be on offer all the time, but that the press tastings rarely include. Strange, that.

Then the very useful notes will be on the site for everyone to see.

My normal panel is only about 10 people strong and so we need some outside tasters.

Haven't chosen the date yet, so if anyone has input about a good day/date, I'd love to see some Forum regulars.

There'll be a simple scoring method and any pithy tasting notes would be welcome.

Mel, questions re tasting event...

1: Do you choose the wine, we go out and buy them, taste them, send notes to you?
2: Do you choose the wine, send them all to me in the post for tasting, send notes to you? (preferred).
3: You choose a venue, we attend, drink too much and sleep where we fall?
4: Party at your gaf?

:)

I'll be getting all the wine in and will find a venue that's cheap and not too far from here. J13 of M5. People will come, people will taste and perhaps score. People will spit and then go home or stay over if feasible. Perhaps some of us will go out to eat? or I may cook?
