I'm still thinking, going food shopping tomorrow, lamb, gammon or turkey, not sure yet. Will wait to see whats on the table before I choose the wines.

Currently enjoying a bottle or two of Spitfire Kentish Ale, have a P&P Riesling in the fridge for later, we are having a movie night and have just ordered Chinese.

Enjoy your Easter as well GK, I think everyone is ready for a rest. I hope the weather cheers up a bit. Lots of sowing seeds and raising toms, peppers and cucumber going on here . . . .yeah, on the guest bedroom dressing table (glass top) right next to the south facing windows.

Been enjoying the M&S clearance, with early big disco offers with two case 25% off the balance payable at check-out.

Emergence - Napa cab 2012, bigg'ish and easy, sweet'ish in the typical style, but not bad, 13.5% alc so cool . . . .could age beneficially, I think
Chat Marzin - Cotes de Blaye 2009, good on day 2. A bit soft off the blocks for a claret, not dry, nice with pork sausages.
Their Champagne offer - can't remember the name good pre-luncheon style. Liked by all.

Lobster tails and king prawns in the freezer to be the starter (undecided yet on how they will be served) so white to pair with it and the Chanoine freres 2007 champagne I bought in tesco the other week. I'd love an excuse for a buttery burg but may go for Jacobs creek reserve riesling or mount pleasant Elizabeth semillon if the starter requires a zippier wine

Lamb will be the main at ours on Sunday. I haven't decided what to pull out to go with it though
I'm tempted by bordeaux for my personal preference but my dad's a fan of CNdP and Ribera del Duero
I'm leaning towards RdD as the ladies will both drink that too. The Hay Paddock NZ Syrah is the other option coming to mind although this hasn't been tried thus far

Whatever the case I'm sure anything picked with be enjoyable. Have a good easter folks

You've certainly given your menu some consideration - We shall finish the Napa cab with a roast chicken, and if that's gone, we can sample the The Hay Paddock NZ Syrah 2012, Yet if you get to it, you're going to start off with your more evolved 2010 version, I suspect. . .

The Ribera del Duero may win in the end - The Ladies can pull a fast one, yet your Dad will be head of the table - I have that advantage We have GC's Sat overnight & Sunday, their parents later on and the rest of my family.

I think you may have to give your Dad his CNdP, if the ladies are clearing the whites . . . . Host always plays second fiddle.

Some really good choices there boys, if I were not at my own table I wouldn't mind being at yours

We picked up a whole salmon today for Saturday evening, and a gammon for Sunday, Chablis is a must, possibly a NW Pinot, I will see what I have in the rack.

I've just opened a bottle of TF Garnacha, I like, very much, cheers!

Chanoine freres 2007 was very nice. The ladies moved to Borgo Molino Prosecco from Tesco afterwards
The zestiness of the Jacobs creek reserve riesling partnered well with the lobster tail and king prawn cocktail
Pesquera crianza 2005 was great with the roast lamb (turns out RdD is my dad's preference over CNdP)
Paul cluver late harvest riesling with easter steamed sponge dessert for me to enjoy and will continue to sup over the rest of the evening

I was treated to a very beautiful and elegant Pinot Noir by one of my guests. My guests have been learning my taste, and it is a joy when they present a bottle that is memorable.
