You know I like the CB style. I have 1 x '09 left, and 3 x '10s in my wine cooler. By all accounts, after an indifferent '11, the 2012 vintage is getting good reviews, Bob Campbell scores a 94 I believe. Inflation, plus tax thereon and VAT on top have not helped. At £16 in the UK, the wine is not out-of-line with top MSB anymore

I can vouch that CB holds & keeps well in the right conditions.

A Ms Kat Parker drummed up 6 Co Buyers overnight ! So the chances of one of us gettng a half case of 2012 Cloudy Bay for nought, are fairly slim.

Talking Chateauneuf:

Sainsbury's, the very big out of town store in west Berks, did a Christmas Special last year, and the year before when I got the 2007. They had, the Clos de L'Oratoire des Papes for £(16) £12 net and when doing a mix of 6 at 25% discount. So...........we wait. I think, I got the '07 down to £11 per bottle in 2011. Pick through the shelves - Eh.

I may keep my eyes peeled on Sainsbury offers for CNdP, you can be sure they will pick one with a very fancy label Please also advise if you see any. You go to Sains much more often than I.

I have an 07 L'Oratoire that like you I picked up for £10.50 from sainsbury back in 2009 when they had £5 off along with 25% off 6

Was it 2009 - Surely not that long ago, I was thinking 2010 at the earliest, when picked thru the shelves.

Ok - '07 L'Oratoire drinking. Is Now, this Christmas, and up to Christmas 2015. I've drunk a 2001 Oratoire at 10 years. Nice, but not so fruity, but then 2001 was not so fruity as 2007, there were no waining off flavours, no drying astringency at all, and a bit more animal type brett and dried prunes and raisins than normal.

Talking recent brett.

The 1994 Conde de Valdemar had a slight touch of animal in the aroma, immediately off the blocks, before it opened, and the vanilla and Temp, took over - nice.

I'm gutted also. There seems to be no one TN'ing the bargain fine wines, when on offer. Hush - They snaffle it up for themselves. Like we do ! Gutted, the '94 better than the '89.

I keep making the same mistake, I don't get to them quickly enough. More gutted.

Argentinian Malbec is on Co-Buy as at 13:00 today. I dont know anything about this producer. I generally prefer Malbec when mixed with Cott from Cahors. The novelty really. When the Argentinian vineyards come of age, I suspect I will try them again. There is no doubt you get a huge amount of value, a great deal of toil and sweat for a pound.

The Rothchild's and other classed growth chateau owners are down there with a lot of money. Anyway
