Slovenia...wott?...Slovenia...Eh?...S-L-O-V-E-N-I-A.
Up the east coast of Italy and turn right. From an inland terraced vineyard around Jeruzalem (honest guv.), and along the lines of colder-clime Italian whites. The label tells of a couple of awards and that grapes were hand picked between 28/8 and 4/9...yep, really.
Nice enough, with better to come in time perhaps. Bought at 25% off and that is nearer the mark.

This is what Jancis said of the 2009......

dry Sauvignon Blanc, hugely reminiscent of the fine Sauvignons of Styria, that tastes as though it is currently at its peak. Puklavec & Friends Sauvignon Blanc 2009 Štajerska Slovenija is much drier and more concentrated than the average Marlborough Sauvignon, but is more assertive than a typical Loire Sauvignon with lots of confident, 'green', fresh vegetation aromas and firm fruit on the palate. This is a Sauvignon to make your mouth water. While it could be drunk without food, it is certainly dry enough to serve with a wide variety of fish dishes. For some reason, I can't imagine it going with pasta - too aromatic perhaps?

Eh - is much drier and more concentrated than the average Marlborough Sauvignon ? What ....Well, maybe I've successfully avoided the average MSB ! Styria in case you've never had S.SB, which I haven't, is an area in south east Austria

Ba, does that TN figure for this 2012 vintage ?

Yep, JR sounds about right though '09 may have been a better vintage. The 'pasta' comment is inspired, not enough viscosity I guess. The 'green' is likely the feature which does not allow me to think more highly of it. I don't get on very well with green or grapefruit.
