Thanks for the heads-up Shez
,
I found the special clearance section in the middle of the store !
I bought less than you, but very similar choices, including a pair of the '09 CO pinot matured in french oak.
I bought also the LFE gran reserva SB on the
2012, for £4.49 a no brainer not to sample.
I also bought 4 X Chablis premier cru vintage
2010 for £5.99 also a no brainer, since the wine was awarded an IWC Gold in 2012. A beautiful vintage.
There was no Chateau Tahbilk marsanne 2008 to be found
Still you can't win them all. With all that was on offer, I avoided the Giesen half bottles on the ordinary MSB (not good enough quality for the space in my cellar
) How rediculous is that comment. So bought 5 x of the Brothers 2011 also.
There were a couple of the other reds - that I should have bought, just to give them a whirl. We'll see.
Cheers Shez, without your post, I would be none the wiser. Thanks
I met a couple (my generation) who were gobbling up the cab/shiraz £2.49 reds for gravy making, and the £2.49 half decent spanish whites, only a few left, for shellfish sauces !!! No kidding, they were in the restaurant business, we had a good laugh.
Ba - you haven't looked in the right part of the store - go to a biggy
