What I find a bit bizarre is the choice of what trophies to award.

Why have things like "Clare Valley White Trophy", a "Falanghina Trophy" and "Petit Manseng Trophy" when there is only one trophy for the whole Languedoc-Roussillon, South-African red or Spanish red?

As has been said in another thread, a lot of these wines are decent but mediocre wines within their category. I don't think anyone really believes that the La Chablisienne coop makes the best Chablis or that Fairleigh (wither Hills's second label) is the best New Zealand Chardonnay.

Yeah. I would actually be less likely to buy a wine with an IWC sticker.
