The old girl flies again. Having bought the salvage, and working on it for 2 weeks in a friend's garage, the bike is back on the road. Bought bits off the internet, and the fairing was repaired by a mobile-bumper guy. Took ages to drill out the hardened bolts of the ignition switch. Eveything works and we went for a shake-down 20 miles on Sunday. Happy as Larry. Still needs some spraying and a new rear tyre but it's fine.

This coincided with me becoming an official grumpy old man and subsidised by HMG. Great prezzy.

Top of Table (at home) 2 - Bottom of table 1. Should have been a cricket score. At least you won this time.

P.S...and why on earth have your lot nicked our shirts ??

It's the parsnoscopic effect. Your brain is too fast for the changing image and interprets it as moving backwards.

I got all excited for a moment there, I thought we'd moved on to discussing parsnips.

A belated **happy birthday to you Mr B. Glad to hear about the bike; Be careful now, you don't wanna senior moment when you're flying about !

** you've got ya rail card and bus pass and ya heating allowance - but you don't get petrol tokens. Is there such a thing as a diesel bike - economy for OAPs ......... do you wear specks under your visor ?

Cheers Mr D.
Diesel bikes exist, but the power / weight ratio is bad. Only used in scrambles and motocross situations.
Glasses are fine except at certain temp / humidity conditions. Visor steams up, lift visor only to find glasses steamed up.
Super-duper new-generation rear tyre tomorrow. Spraying will need to wait for warmer weather.
