It's not good is it, to think we went camping back in March this year, that's the last time I saw the sun.

I have a bottle of '05 Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon in the fridge for when I get home, I tried this last year and was a little underwhelmed, I'm hoping I had an off day at the time as I've now acquired a case of the stuff.

Weirdly enough - actually, and fortunately (saving dosh) enough, I'm drinking a Tom Cannavan bargain of the week last Autumn - and......it costs £4.99 at the Co-op at the mo. two knicker off. An art Nouveau capsule, are you guessing what ?

I had some vouchers and it was a free delivery week at T, I was struggling to find something to buy and decided to go for six of the MPE, it worked out at around £7 a bottle which isnt bad considering.

I left it until tonight to open, got back from a run last night and just wasnt in the mood for wine. Pasta-bake and an early night did the trick.

Im cooking pork fillet with lemon & sage risotto this evening, I think the richness of the MPE could work well with this dish.

Sounds delicious to me. Lemon & sage rather than tart Bramley apple & sage - different, Not too much lemon, don't wana spoil that mature MPE. I missed that big T deal - damn.

I did weaken last night, and came inside to dry-off abit after frantically tying up stuff in the garden in the lashing rain - Puffy and squawly gail force winds here. Then opened a fireside claret on Midsummers Night, for goodness sake ! The chateau Griviere CB medoc 2004, Nice stuff, but no quite as good as the 2001 & 2002 vintages - we'll see how it is on day 2 when fully open.
Nevertheless, a consolation prize of sorts

Monsoon Ba ? it aint hot and steamy here - ha ha, Autumn Gails perhaps ! GK hot and steaming ? Excellent running weather though - a refreshing and cooling shower all the way.

Never seen anything like it. I laid turf earlier in the week but some had to come up 'cos the supplier had sent some duff rolls. I had to take them up in the downpour. I got soaked but waited for it to stop on Saturday to lay down the new ones. I now have a patchwork quilt for a lawn

The turves I originally put down look great though. The rest of the garden is still underwater.

I read that the '05 Mt Pleasant was held back. The '06 was released before the '05. Seems that it needed some time.
